Let Freedom Fly Kite Festival
Did you know 2026 marks the 14th anniversary of the NSL Kite Festival? This beloved community tradition returns on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Tunnel Springs Park — and this year’s celebration will be even more special as part of America250, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Join us as we Let Freedom Fly at North Salt Lake’s annual Kite Festival, where the skies above Tunnel Springs will fill with colorful kites, patriotic spirit, and family fun. This year’s festival also falls on Armed Forces Day, giving us an extra opportunity to celebrate our country and honor those who serve.
Bring the whole family and enjoy a morning filled with activities, including:
• Live music with our festival DJ
• Delicious local food trucks
• Face painters and family activities
• Fun photo opportunities
• Patriotic characters and surprises
• And of course… lots of kites flying high over the park
A limited number of free kites will be available for kids to decorate and fly. Be sure to come early while supplies last!
